Plainly is operated by LB Holdings. LB Holdings is the data controller for the personal data described here, which means we decide how and why it is used.

What we collect and why

• Account details (email, name, login credentials) — to create and secure your account. Basis: contract.
• Documents you submit and the explanations generated — to provide the service and show your history. Basis: contract.
• Usage and device data (IP address, browser, pages used, error logs) — for security, fraud prevention and improving Plainly. Basis: legitimate interests.
• Support messages — to help you. Basis: contract and legitimate interests.
• Marketing emails, only if you opt in. Basis: consent, which you can withdraw anytime.

Your documents are never used to train AI models.

Who we share it with

• Service providers who host our app, database and AI processing, under contracts that protect your data.
• Paddle, our Merchant of Record, for selling subscriptions, managing billing, payments, tax and invoicing.
• Professional advisers (legal, accounting) where needed.
• Authorities, where the law requires it.

We never sell your personal data.

International transfers

Our providers may process data outside your country, including outside the UK/EEA. Where they do, we rely on safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions.

How long we keep it

Documents stay until you delete them, or until your account is closed. Account data is kept while your account is active and deleted or anonymised when no longer needed, unless the law requires us to keep it longer.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask to access, correct, delete, restrict or port your data, object to processing, and withdraw consent. You can also complain to your local data protection authority. We respond to requests within one month.

Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit and at rest and strict access controls.

Cookies

We use only essential cookies and local storage needed to keep you signed in and the site working. We don't use advertising cookies. You can clear them in your browser settings.
